There’s no denying the new CONNETIX PRO range lets creators build complex, detailed and seriously impressive creations. However, some designs, especially those with rounded details, don’t always look quite right. That’s where metal nuts and washers come in!
Strategically placed metal nuts and washers make those rounded features pop and completely transform the look of a PRO creation. Read on to see how simple metal nuts and washers add a new level of detail to these PRO designs.
1. Prime Mover
The new PRO shapes work brilliantly together to make an awesome and detailed Prime Mover Truck. PRO posts can be used for the vertical exhaust stacks as well as underneath to add extra stability. For the front of the truck, try using a white PRO plank as the bumper, paired with a large white square for the grille.
And of course, no prime mover feels complete without rounded wheels. Add large washers to the outside of the navy-blue squares to instantly transform it into a realistic build. A couple of small metal nuts as headlights are perfect for finishing the look.
2. Race Car
To create a sleek, speedy race car, try using a PRO plank on isosceles triangles to form a rear spoiler, held neatly in place by the ultra-strong magnets. Smart-Spin™ technology allows PRO shapes to overlap, helping to create that classic race car silhouette. While the wheels won’t actually roll, PRO posts can sit neatly inside metal washers to create wheels that look the part. Mix and match different shapes and colours to design a race car that is uniquely yours.
3. Submarine
The shapes and colours in the PRO range make an awesome submarine. The trickiest part to design can be the back end. In this example, the submarine was built with two PRO planks (each one attached to a square), two white posts inside the planks, and a navy post in the centre. PRO equilateral triangles on the navy post finish off the rudder. It won’t sit completely flat unless the rudder is lifted a little, but it works perfectly when held by hand.
It’s not until you add metal washers (to make rounded windows and a periscope) that this submarine really comes to life. They’re the secret to turning an unidentifiable vessel into an unmistakable submarine.
4. Robot
For a playful robot build, two large PRO squares work well for the body, with navy blue squares forming the arms. Metal washers can be added to the antenna and eyes, held neatly in place by the ultra-strong magnets, while a single metal nut adds a charming nose detail. Simpler than the other builds, this one is a fun place to experiment.
As you can see, just a few metal additions can completely transform a range of PRO designs. Grab some metal nuts and washers from home (or from your local hardware store) and bring your builds to life. You can follow these designs exactly, experiment with different shapes and colours, or create something entirely new. Add metal nuts and washers with your CONNETIX PRO creations today!
