4 Play Ideas Using the Clear Starter Pack

Are you looking for fresh inspiration with your CONNETIX Clear Starter Pack? These transparent tiles open up endless creative possibilities for little builders. Here are four playful ideas to spark imagination, learning and hands-on fun!

What’s in the Pack?

The Clear Starter Pack offers 34 transparent magnetic tiles. Inside the pack, you will find 2 large hexagons, along with 4 large squares. There are also 12 standard squares, 4 isosceles triangles, 4 equilateral triangles, 4 right-angled triangles and 4 small rectangles. And of course a CONNETIX inspiration book!

1) Pressing Flowers and Leaves

Bring nature indoors by using your clear magnetic tiles to press flowers, leaves and other flat treasures from your nature walks. Simply ‘sandwich’ your finds between two small or large square tiles. It’s a beautiful way to observe delicate details like veins in leaves or the petals of a flower. This simple activity turns your tiles into magical display frames!

2) Create Themed Worlds

The transparent design of the CONNETIX Clear Starter Pack makes it perfect for building imaginative themed worlds. Think of creating an arctic scene with icy structures, a sleek modern city skyline, a shimmering ice castle straight out of a Frozen-inspired adventure or even a futuristic space station. Because the tiles are clear, they lend themselves beautifully to setups that feel bright, light and otherworldly. Your child can dream up entire worlds and bring them to life!

3) Geometry

The 34-piece CONNETIX Clear Starter Pack is also a fantastic tool for introducing geometry concepts through play. Start out simple by recognising the 2D shapes included: squares, triangles and hexagons. Combine two equilateral triangles to create a rhombus or place two standard squares together to form a rectangle. From there, you can transition into building 3D shapes. Six standard squares can form a cube and four equilateral triangles can create a pyramid. Want to go even bigger? Combine two equilateral triangles and three standard squares to build a triangular prism or use ten squares to create a 3D rectangular prism. You can even create a hexagonal prism by using two large hexagons and connecting them with twelve standard squares. Another fun challenge: build a rhombohedron, the 3D version of a rhombus, by connecting six equilateral triangles together. Learning through building has never been so hands-on and fun!

4) Light Table Play

Clear tiles are stunning on a light table! Well actually, all CONNETIX tiles are, but clear are perfect for this setup! Stack tiles, use CONNETIX as a ‘puzzle’ or explore overlapping different pieces to see what happens. Light table play enhances sensory learning, deepens concentration and allows kids to experiment with light and shadow. It’s also a lot of fun to build upwards on the light table, creating glowing towers and structures. Or turn the light table into a mini disco by using the tiles to create dance floors and stages for small world play scenes with figures!

Bonus: Build a Greenhouse

Construct the walls and roof with the transparent tiles and talk with your child about how real greenhouses work.
